WELCOME! Our eight individual, fully self-contained colonial style cottages are set on 4 hectares of landscaped grounds adjacent beautiful Marengo Beach, 2 kilometres West of Apollo Bay on the magnificent Great Ocean Road 2.5 hours travelling time from Melbourne.

The beach is wide and sandy and the water clear. There are fascinating rock pools to explore and the offshore reef is home to a seal colony. Sorry - no pets

Accommodation
The 2 and 3 bedroom cottages, separated by native shrubs and gardens all have a superb view of the coast and Otway Ranges.

The bedrooms have queen size beds with electric blankets, doonas and pillows. Quality linen and towels are supplied. Cots, highchairs and baby sitting can be arranged.

They feature traditional open fireplaces as well as electric heating, 2-person spa baths, TV, VCR, CD/radio, telephone (local calls), colonial dining settings, full size refrigerators and electric stoves, plus microwave ovens, crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils – in fact, everything you require for self-catering. Initial supplies of tea, coffee, milk and sugar are supplied.

Every cottage has its own laundry with washing machine, tumble dryer, clothesline, and ironing equipment. There is under-cover car parking and space for a boat or trailer.

The large open area for recreation includes wood-fired barbecues and picnic tables. Golf, bowls, tennis, hang-gliding and horse riding, are available.

An ornamental lake is home to waterfowl and colourful water lilies. Across the bridge near the lake discover abundant native flora and fauna and steps leading to a secret garden.

Attractions
The cottages are close to many waterfalls and rainforest fern gullies in the Otway National Park.

Port Campbell and the Twelve Apostles are a wonderful destination for a day trip - on the way, explore shipwreck sites, sea caves, or visit the Cape Otway Light House.

Fishing is great from rocks, rivers, and surf, in Apollo Bay, with a safe harbour for launching boats. Magnificent beaches are close by for swimming, surfing, or simply strolling.

Several local restaurants feature menus with locally caught rock lobster. Watch the boats at the harbour unload their catches or visit the local fishermen's co-op and prepare your own.

Location
First sighted by Lieutenant Grant aboard the Lady Nelson in 1845, Apollo Bay was named by Captain Loutit, who sheltered here in his vessel Apollo. It isn't difficult to understand it is regarded as ‘Paradise by the Sea'. It has a special charm that is helped by its location further down the Great Ocean Road further away from the commercial tourist destinations.

The town nestles into the picturesque green foothills of the Otway Ranges that roll down to a sweeping arc of golden beaches and sky-blue sea. Dozens of cypress trees dot the wide foreshore reserve, while the fascinating Otway National Park is just a stone's throw away.

Enjoy a drink in one of the old pubs or cafes revamped to cater to the new generation of travellers. All have waterfront views so they are the perfect spot to relax after a days sightseeing and soak in the areas natural beauty.
